Building Tomorrow's
Infrastructure, Today
From Surat, Gujarat to Congo, Africa — Technical skills build systems, but understanding diverse cultures, regulations, and constraints makes them work.
Building Infrastructure Across Borders — From Surat to the World
Hi, I'm Vivek (Vivekanand Chandnani), originally from Surat, Gujarat, India. I design cloud infrastructure that handles real-world scale—from database architecture to API design to deployment. Working across continents taught me that technical skills are only half the job; speaking 5 languages helps me understand what people actually need.
International Journey
Different continents, different realities. What works in one culture doesn't automatically work in another. Good architecture starts with understanding, not assumptions.
Business + Tech Mindset
Sales and development are usually separate worlds. Working in both taught valuable lessons: technology only matters if it solves real business problems.
5 Languages
Speaking 5 languages teaches that people think differently in each one. That perspective matters when building solutions for diverse markets.
Frontier Experience
Building where internet is slow and expensive, where power isn't reliable—these constraints aren't edge cases. They're the baseline that shapes better architecture.
What I Build
Backend systems, database architecture, and cloud infrastructure designed to handle scale while respecting real-world constraints.
Cloud Architecture & Development
Cloud applications built end-to-end: frontend development, backend APIs, database integration, deployment. Designed to scale in diverse markets.
Database & System Design
Robust PostgreSQL architectures and system design for enterprise solutions. Building scalable data infrastructure from the ground up.
Enterprise Integration & AI
API integrations for business operations. WhatsApp Business, Meta platforms, payment systems, and automation workflows that connect different services.
Solution Engineering
Custom applications built for specific business problems. Reward systems, CRM platforms, workflow automation—engineering solutions when standard software doesn't address the actual need.
Professional Experience
From enterprise account management to cloud architecture— building scalable systems across continents.
Technology Solutions Architect
Contributing to BUROTEC's digital growth in the Republic of Congo by developing a complete end-to-end application with secure cloud deployment. Responsible for system architecture, database design, and implementation to support both internal operations and large client projects.
Overseeing the company's technical processes and ensuring that all digital systems remain reliable, scalable, and aligned with business objectives. Collaborating with management to translate operational needs into practical, high-impact technology solutions.
This role allows me to take ownership of development while contributing directly to BUROTEC's broader digital transformation goals.
Key Account Manager
Key Account Manager
Led comprehensive WhatsApp Business marketing operations with a strategic focus on enabling seamless platform adoption for diverse business clients. Managed end-to-end onboarding processes through Meta Business Suite configuration and WhatsApp Business API verification, including complex VBA procedures and technical troubleshooting.
Enhanced customer experience through proactive communication frameworks that significantly reduced response times while building sustainable client confidence in platform capabilities. Addressed technical challenges with precision and maintained consistently high satisfaction rates across diverse client portfolios.
Successfully transformed WhatsApp marketing operations from a standalone product offering into an integrated business solution. Combined deep technical expertise with strategic relationship management to deliver measurable client outcomes, accelerated onboarding timelines, and established long-term partnerships that drive mutual growth and success.
Business Development Executive
Worked on business development through global freelancing platforms such as Upwork and a Philippine-based bidding portal. Managed client communication, proposal coordination, and requirement gathering for international web projects.
Collaborated with developers on multiple assignments, including a Shopify bakery website, a WordPress e-commerce platform, and a PHP/Laravel ERP system for internal business operations. Supported project progress by translating client requirements into clear technical briefs and assisting with quality assurance and timelines.
While client acquisition performance was modest, the role deepened my understanding of web technologies, development workflows, and the importance of effective client–developer collaboration — building a strong foundation for my technical journey ahead.
Business Development Intern
Introduced to the fundamentals of freelancing platforms and technology-based project acquisition. Learned how international software projects are sourced, evaluated, and managed through online bidding portals.
Developed a basic understanding of client communication, proposal structuring, and emerging web technologies — setting the groundwork for future roles that combined business understanding with technical execution.
Education
Master of Computer Applications - MCA
Focused on cloud architecture, system design, and full-stack development. This program provided formal training in building scalable systems—knowledge that directly applies to designing infrastructure for emerging markets.
Bachelor of Computer Applications - BCA
Built strong foundation in cybersecurity principles and secure application development. Learned to design systems with security-first mindset—an approach that shapes infrastructure decisions today. Early exposure to database management and mobile development laid groundwork for full-stack architecture work.
College Sports: Volleyball & Table Tennis
What Sales Taught Me About Architecture
Working in both sales and development isn't common—but the combination taught unexpected lessons about building systems that last.
Users don't care about your tech stack
The Insight:
In sales, watching clients react to demos revealed a pattern: they never asked "what framework is this built with?" They asked "can it handle 10,000 users?" and "what if the internet goes down?" Technical choices matter—but only when they solve real problems.
How It Changed My Architecture:
Technology decisions now start with constraints, not preferences. Building in Congo means planning for slow internet and unreliable power. The "best" framework is the one that works when infrastructure fails. Choose boring, proven tools that solve actual problems.
In Practice:
PostgreSQL over trendy NoSQL solutions. Server-side rendering for slow networks. Aggressive caching strategies. These aren't exciting choices—they're reliable ones.
Proposals die when too complex
The Insight:
Watched countless proposals die because they were too technical, too complex to understand. Clients would nod politely, then choose the competitor who explained it simply. Learned that complexity signals risk, not sophistication.
How It Changed My Architecture:
If you can't explain your architecture in plain language to a non-technical client, it's probably over-engineered. Good systems should be simple to understand—for clients, for teams, for the developer who maintains it in two years.
In Practice:
Architecture documents should read like explanations, not academic papers. If stakeholders don't understand the plan, they won't trust the execution.
The best code is the code you don't write
The Insight:
Sales taught the value of time—every hour spent building custom features is an hour not spent solving the next problem. Clients don't pay for code, they pay for solutions. Sometimes the solution is a well-configured existing tool, not a custom build.
How It Changed My Architecture:
Every feature needs to justify its existence. Can existing tools handle 80% of this? Use them. Build custom only when the gap between what exists and what's needed is significant. Speed to value beats perfect implementation.
In Practice:
Leverage managed databases, authentication services, and payment processors. Focus development effort where it creates unique business value, not rebuilding what already exists.
